Bad Boys Bad Boys !!!

Check out these bad boys!!!!

These are my brand new Brooks Glycerin 10 purchased from those very helpful chaps at Up & Running, Bucks Road, Douglas.  The staff there are fabulous, extremely knowledgeable, friendly and helpful.  Yup this is an advert and Im not on commission.  Credit where credit is due though, I had my Gait analysed again and its pretty much the same as last year neutral, happy with the Brooks brand as a tried, tested and successful brand/trainer I decided to stick with them, Why change a winning formula.  So using a voucher I got for Christmas from my brother and sister in law I got the updated version of my existing Glycerin 9.  Retreating out of the shop quickly as the chaps there were trying to get me to sign up for the Centurion Challenge, which sounds amazing but not three weeks after the Parish thank you very much.  I believe there are still spaces available so if you go to www.isleofman100milewalk.co.uk it will give you all the information if you fancy signing up!!!

These trainers are fabulous, its great to get back to having a lot of grip, comfort, padding, spring and
If there is one tip I can give and I'm sure I'm not the only one who will give this bit of advice is feet and footwear, you need to have the correct footwear and need to condition your feet for the big occasion.
Once you have found the right trainers for the event, do not change them leave them alone, train in them, look after them and remember trainers have a life span they quote between 300-500 miles which in the scheme of things its not a lot at all.
This week has been a bit of a none event so far really due to Snow!!! Its been SNOWJOKE! I have never witnessed snow quite like it, Whole communities being stuck and cut off and the farming being hit the hardest with livestock stuck being cut off and perishing which has been very sad,  It shows the true character and community spirit of this island with scores and scores of volunteers giving up their spare time to help rescue these stranded animals, clear driveways, paths and roads.  The Department of Info-structure have been working long tiresome hours to get the roads back up and running, which was no mean feet with 12-15 feet snow drifts in places. Emergency / Government services have been tested from all angles and departments by pulling together have done a great job.  My bug bear is rubberneckers the fools that travel on CLOSED roads and get stuck and need to be rescued, tying up valuable resources and putting them at risk for no reason!, Surely when it says ROADS CLOSED they are and there should be no exceptions! The clue really is in the order!

(Above Cronk Y Voddy 27/03/12 amazing to think in just over seven weeks this becomes a road race circuit!!!!)

Now I have stepped down from my soap box its down to business, Its taken to Thursday this week to get out and about putting some miles in, I went for a very quick (for me) seven miles 1hour 23 mins, it was cold but my legs felt great and the trainers were like walking on air!!! hence the song placed above!!!! :0

Typing this I have just realised that I am a week behind! Must be the cold getting to my brain!!! I confused myself, Im now writing this weeks blog and last weeks blog at the same time so I will keep it simples, last week was a total of 15 miles all went well and the trainers were ace!!!  This week please see above! Although I may give an update later over the weekend.

So I will post this now and catch up with you all over the Easter Weekend with some more ramblings!

KRO!
