What a great event, I just love Parish Walk Day. This is a quick post to say thanks for reading my blog and its been a pleasure writing it. Although this year I was no where near finishing which was not my initial intention, I wanted to do the double!!! I still had a great time training and writing even though it was not given my full attention due to changed circumstances.
The day started off with no pressure, we knew where we wanted to get to and how long we had to get there. There was a shuffle of vehicles in the right places and we were soon stood at the start line.
From the starting pistol we made good ground and good pace, the atmosphere was great and this year as there was no pressure I was able to soak it all in.
Well not much more else to say we made it to Santon in 2hr 18mins not super fast but a good steady pace, I was expecting for us to collect the first medals of the parish which would have been a nice first but unfortunately was pipped by Jim MacGregor (Sarda dog handler) Curse you Jim!!!! :0
Anywhoo we then had to continue walking after we collected out medals and handed our dibbers in to Blackboards where we parked the car towards the Fairy Bridge in order to get to Vagabonds Rugby Club to watch the Lions beat Australia.
We made it in good time and the beer tasted great!!!!
So Well done to everyone who took part and big well done to everyone who finished including Michael George a worthy winner.
Right all that's left is for me to sign off and Jog on to Oz to continue to watch the Lions beat Australia, Ill be back next year for another crack at finishing the Parish and before that I need to confront my nemesis the End to End!!! I may do it next year without the blog!.................but you never know!
Until then Keep Right On!!!
Well done with the walk and your enjoyable blog this year. It's been great keeping in touch and trading training tips. Thanks for the support in Andreas, even if you did only had one can of Carling and didn't share it as I went past!
ReplyDeleteWhen you decided to have another crack next year, I'll make sure I'm out and about to cheer you on (I'll be in a car though, not walking!!!!).
Thanks Tony. Well done for two years blogging. That's a PW in itself.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the blog, Tony. Hope you're enjoying Australia by now!
