because I'm slightly less padded than I was this time last year! Although I have put a bit of timber on since the End to End!!!!! This I'm sure will be rectified when I fully get back into the swing of things, I'm feeling this will be a post Christmas thing though!
More Like the Canals of Birmingham I had no option but to wade through it, It was up to my shins and icy cold! It reminded me of the TT Access Road last June, seeing numerous people negotiate the side of the road by the bridge!!! How I laughed when team Newbies went through the middle, one of us stopped at Bride, another in Ramsey and the other two of us finished, Water was not a factor in finishing in Bride and Ramsey! I still laugh when I think back of people tiptoeing through the shallowest part of the road.
I know that it can hinder and cause feet problems but this was not the case with us from Team Newbies,
So what did I do when faced with this above, yep that's right I KEPT RIGHT ON to the End of the Road!!! or KRO!!!!! :0 Its that Brummie thing again!!!!
I then continued on to Kiondroghad Road (Bridge End Road) see free Manx lessons with this blog too!!
It felt really uncomfortable for another mile and then nothing I ploughed on back towards Andreas. I reached home in a great time of 1hr 10 mins. I wasn't even thinking about my time just wanted to get out to stretch my legs. Well pleased though!
I think the new playlist on my MP3 helped, my favorite tune at the moment is Dont you worry child by Swedish House Mafia, the album is cracking too!!!!! This played twice during my walk!!!!
This morning (Sunday) I woke up with a sore head, maybe too much red wine last night! I will be cutting it out after Christmas for a couple of months when training will be getting more serious. However I managed to drag myself out of bed, changed and hit the road looking to do four miles. There was a strong headwind for the first two miles and I wanted to turn back, it was that strong that I couldn't hear my tunes which didn't help!!! I got into it and headed back towards Andreas. As I passed the church hall I could see lots of cars outside and people with training kit on. It dawned on me that it was the Winter Walking League, I got a couple of funny looks and also people in cars staring as if I had started early. Off towards the church there was a marshal putting out signs again he just looked at me as if I was getting a headstart!!! I did tell him I wasn't cheating!
Making it back home before they started, five miles in 59 minutes again I was happy with the time and speed but felt a little sick which I am putting down to the dreaded vino!
11 miles for the week is a good starting point for my Parish training, To date I have walked 810 miles in 2012 burning 103535 calories.
So till next week KRO!
